Arundhati Basu enthralls the audience with her dance, soul and grace at the Birla Academy

On 31st January 2022, the audience at the Birla Academy witnessed an enthralling dance performance by Smt. Arundhati Basu in the Pithe Puli Utsav organised by JJTT Club  .


Smt Arundhati Basu ,a Disciple of Nrityashiramani Guru Bandana Sen, is a Doordarshan B High grade artist and a dance teacher of Nava Nalanda Group of schools . She never fails to enthral the audience with her charm and grace. Smt. Arundhati Basu is also associated with Esha Goswami Dance Troupe.


After fighting COVID 19 and after the horrifying pandemic, this dance concert became a rejuvenation for both , the artist and the audience. It really was a source of life for the audience as well as Smt Arundhati basu .


She performed solo dance in Rabindra Sangeet, film and non film bengali music, and few classical fusions with modern songs while the classical ones included a little bit of Odyssey and Kathak. It was wonderful mixture of Arundhati’s solo and some of the group performances.


Though the dance dramas and the segments concerning dance were the chief highlight of the show, some eminent singers from Zee bangla Saregamapa like Rik Basu, Shaan and Anwesha performed couple of songs each. Respected MLA and father of actress Devlina Kumar, Mr. Debashish Kumar came as a chief guest to add cherry on the cake.


On interviewing Smt Arundhati Basu, she said “ It feels so amazing to be back on stage after so long,the hall was packed up with so many people. Our performance got so much accolades. God is kind to give us back the place where we belong. This was my first live offline show after the Omicron lockdown . I hope to get back to normalcy very soon. Music director, Pratik Karmakar and singer, Debojit Dutta creates the Durga Puja theme song for Newtown BC Block

  Report : Satyaki Sen On the occasion of Rath Yatra, Newtown BC block cultural association launches their new durgapuja theme song for the year 2024. Music director Pratik Karmakar has done the music arrangements & music programming of the song , has played all the instruments , has recorded the song and has also done the mixing and mastering of the song. The song has been composed and sung by Zee TV Saregamapa & Indian idol fame, Debojit Dutta. Song has been written by Ajay Karmakar. The theme of New Town BC block cultural association's durga puja is "Putul Kotha" where they want to bring back the old traditions of "putul" ( doll made in rural areas ) which is now on the verge of being extinct. Music director Pratik Karmakar walks in as the chief guest for "Rang Panchami"

Report : Rupali Guha Thakurta Music Director, Pratik Karmakar graced the event as the chief guest at "Rang Panchami" - The Basant Utsav organised by Green Chilli Productions on association with Snap Buzz . Pratik is now busy working on 2 Web Series and a dozen of albums. Still he took out time to visit "Rang Panchami" because of his closeness with Green Chilli Productions and its owner, Moumita Mukherjee.
